Frequently Asked Questions

This is a kit you purchase at the start of your time with The Baby Cloud and is required for the SENSORY ACADEMY classes. It is a special offer of a HUGE sensory play bundle just £35 (worth £65 RRP). It includes noise making instruments, textures, a mini parachute, light up goodies, a giant air ball, a magic foil blanket and much more. THEN Each term you will get little top up’s for your kit – for FREE! So there are new ideas and experiences for you to enjoy at home too. Buy your kit on the Bookings page listed under the Sensory Academy bundle.
  • What if my baby cries?
It is perfectly normal for babies to cry or to become restless at any point during the session so please do not worry if this happens. We know that babies thrive on routine and it often takes 3-4 weeks (sometimes longer) to settle in completely and to feel in familiar surroundings. Other factors such as teething or disturbed sleep pattern may also affect your baby’s mood. If you need to get up and move around with your baby at any point during the session you are always welcome but please do not ever feel that you need to move away if your baby is crying – it has happened to us all at some point (even me!)
  • Can I feed and change my baby?
Absolutely, at any time! We now recommend that you bring your own changing mat and wipes, and keep these with you during the session so you won’t need to move around the space. You are welcome to feed your baby at any point during the class. Whether you are breast or bottle feeding you are welcome to do this sitting on the mats. We do have a small seating area away from the class but you may like to sanitise the chair prior to use. We will show you how to leave the space if you really need to. For older babies, you are respectfully asked not to offer food during the class to maintain our hygiene standards.
  • What if I am early or need to stay at the end?
If you arrive early, you might like to take a seat on one of the Cyclopark benches or in the reception area. We will aim to start welcoming people in to the class around 10 mins before a session. Our outdoor waiting area is in the shade but is open to the elements. So bring a brolly just in case! We aren’t able to offer a social space at the end of the classes at present, however, the Cyclopark has many spaces for you to enjoy and meet new friends. At the end of the class you can always head off to the park or Cafe, so you can get the chance to chat about sleep patterns, nappies, weaning or even yourselves if baby lets you!
  • Can I take photographs of my baby?
We hope you will find lots of photo opportunities to capture the magic in our classes, so feel free to take pictures of your own baby. Please be mindful that other parents may prefer their baby is not photographed.
  • How do you keep the Play Cloud clean?
Kit bowls will be anti bac wiped between sessions, as will door handles, locker doors, chairs and our kit too. We will also steam clean between every class. Everything else you come in to contact with will be yours to keep as part of your termly booking or Baby Academy Bundle.
  • Can I bring family or friends along to the class?
We love for our babies to show their friends and relatives how clever they are, however, at the moment we just can’t offer this option as our class numbers are strictly controlled.
  • Can my child’s sibling attend with us?
Our baby classes are designed to be enjoyed with you and your baby and unfortunately older siblings cannot be accommodated as our insurance does not allow this. The babies safety has to be our priority.
  • What do I need to bring to class?
The first week you attend, we will have everything ready for you that you will need to participate in class. Each week following this, you will need to bring your New Baby Massage kit or Sensory Academy kit to class. You will also want to bring along all the normal bits you would have in your changing bag. We always have extra wipes and sanitiser gel on hand too. We do ask that you only bring a buggy or car seat if absolutely necessary. The parking space in our reception area is very small and we need to keep the exits clear in case of an evacuation. We have lockers for you to store all your belongings. We do ask that you remove your shoes before entering the class space, and ask that you wear socks in order to help keep out class area sanitary.
  • What happens when my I finish my term/my baby is too old for class?
If you have joined us in the New Baby Class, we suggest you book straight back on to the 2 to 7 months Sensory Academy Class. If your baby is attending the younger Sensory Academy Class and is starting to sit unaided (and will be over 6 months at the start of next term) then we reccomed that you graduate in to our 6 to 13 month classes. Here the activities will be tailored to your babys further develped age and stage. Each term we will email you a priority booking link to allow you to keep your space in class prior to spaces being offered to the general public. From this you can book on to ANY of The Baby Cloud classes. We 100% reccomend you take advantage of this priority booking, as our waiting lists are long, are classes are fully booked and babies graduate every term. This means the class can become fully booked within the priority booking period. The only way you can be sure to secure your space is to book ASAP. If your baby has grown out of their Baby Cloud Classes, they will graduate on to The Toddler Cloud. Their sessions run on a Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
  • I want to come with friends, how do I book on?"
We love to welcome groups and if you can book on with 3 or more of you, you get a 20% discount for the first term. Following this we offer 10% off each term, just as long as there are a minumum of 3 in the party. It is always a good idea to drop us a line and check if there are enough spaces in the session for your group prior to booking. When rebooking each term, we ask that this is done within the first 24 hours of booking open so we can be sure to secure everyones space. The rule is everyone books on within 24 hours of one another, with a minimum of 3 parents and babies. Otherwise we cannot garuntee the spaces and bookings using discounts may be cancelled. Group discounts can only apply to groups joining together from their first term of classes. Groups can not be formed within sessions and applied for in a later term. Retrospective discounts will not be given.
